PSX Offers Tribute to the Heroes who Foiled the Terrorist Attack

​In a simple but solemn ceremony Pakistan Stock Exchange offered tribute to the heroes who laid down their lives, were injured and who shot dead the terrorists who attacked the Exchange on June 29, 2020. The ceremony included unveiling of plaque with the names of martyred men etched on it. The plaque was placed at the entrance of the Exchange premises to forever remember and honour those who lost their lives in the attack. Apart from the plaque unveiling, the ceremony included distribution of cheques to the family members of those who lost their lives and to those who were injured in the terrorist attack. Cheques were also distributed to those who killed the terrorists.

The cheques were paid from donations contributed in the support fund by PSX and its staff, AMCs, brokerage houses, and other market entities & persons. Along with these entities, Pakistan Stock Brokers Association was instrumental in growing this Support Facility for the attack affectees. PSX made an upfront contribution of Rs 10 Mn whereas the fund grew to an amount of Rs 22.9 Mn through contribution by all the market entities as mentioned herein.

The event was attended by Chairman of the Board of PSX, Mr. Sulaiman S. Mehdi; Board Members of PSX; CEO PSX, Mr. Farrukh H. Khan; Chairman Pakistan Stock Brokers Association, Mr. Aqeel Karim Dhedhi; representatives of Donors to the Support Facility for the attack affectees and others.
