PSX & AKD Securities Ltd. conduct an Industry Awareness Session for Pak-China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry

​A team from Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) visited Pak-China Joint Chamber of Commerce (PCJCCI) along with representative(s) from AKD Securities Limited as Consultants and Advisors for listing on PSX GEM Board. The teams from PSX and AKD Securities met with representatives of local companies and family owned businesses as well as senior management and executive committee members of PCJCCI. The teams delivered a detailed presentation on how to raise capital through PSX by listing and the benefits thereof. The PSX Regional Head, Lahore, briefed the participants of the meeting about the functions of the Stock Exchange and its role in capital formation; he explained how small & medium enterprises (SMEs), greenfield companies and start-ups can raise growth capital for their business needs by listing on PSX GEM board and take their business across generations. The Consultant & Advisor, AKD Securities, explained their role, responsibilities and services which they can offer. The representative from AKD Securities also explained the role of Consultant to the Issue in the process of listing at PSX. Team PSX highlighted the importance of succession planning, part of the process of listing, for companies as many known names in business community in Pakistan do not survive by the time the third generation of the business families reaches the helm of affairs of their companies, as per a study of IFC (World Bank). The session was an interactive one whereby participants asked many questions regarding eligibility criteria and procedure for listing on the GEM board of PSX.
