SECP Chairman Unveils Reform Agenda to Expand Investor Base and Deepen Capital Markets

SECP Chairman Dr. Kabir Ahmed Sidhu visited Pakistan Stock Exchange and unveiled a reform agenda focused on expanding Pakistan’s investor base, strengthening financial literacy, and deepening capital markets.

Addressing the Gong Ceremony, Dr. Sidhu emphasized the importance of broadening investor participation, particularly among young Pakistanis, and outlined initiatives to enhance financial education, investor awareness, and digital onboarding.

PSX Managing Director Farrukh H. Sabzwari highlighted the Exchange’s strong performance, growing investor base, and continued momentum in IPO activity, while SECP Commissioner Ali Farid Khawaja underscored the resilience of Pakistan’s capital markets and the importance of sustaining reform efforts to drive future growth.

The ceremony was attended by PSX Chairman, members of the Board of Directors, senior officials of SECP, and capital market stakeholders, reflecting a shared commitment to building a deeper, more efficient, and investor-friendly capital market.
