Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited [PSX] held a cheque distribution event at its premises on December 26, 2022 among the legitimate claimants of Aziz Fidahusein & Company (Private) Limited [AFCL] – ex-TRE Certificate Holder of PSX.
The claimants were invited in the event to personally receive the cheques for their approved claims. It is momentous to highlight that this was the second tranche of the funds distributed among the claimants, which were offered to them from the Centralized Customer Protection Compensation Fund of PSX and sale proceeds of the assets of the AFCL.
The Chief Regulatory Officer – PSX, Mr. Ajeet Kumar (CRO) along with his team distributed the cheques and interacted with the claimants during the event. The CRO also briefed the claimants about the improvements in the regulatory frameworks in line with international best practices that PSX has undertaken in the best interests of the investors including measures taken to strengthen the compliance regime. The claimants were also informed of their rights and obligations when dealing with securities brokers in the stock exchange and advised them to ensure that they regularly review their account balances statements and trade confirmations transmitted by brokers.
